DIY | 3D Paper Diamonds

"Big girls need diamonds." That's a quote from world-renowned actress, Elizabeth Taylor. You can see it everywhere. Kim Kardashian's enormous $8.8 million diamond ring, not to mention Elizabeth Taylor herself, who loved all things sparkly! She even wrote a book entitled "My Love Affair With Jewelry". I mean, who wouldn't want to have a diamond? It's a girl's bestfriend!

For the meantime that I don't own something diamond that is actually made out of CARBON and taken out of the ground, my sister and I did some DIY 3D diamonds out of a few sheets of construction paper. A girl can dream, right? Hehe! This little arts and crafts by the way is part of my 2014 resolutions (here) and it's in #3 on my list! :-)

I have always been dreaming to be an origami guru... but I have never yet mastered the art of paper folding! (I guess sometimes I lack the patience *sigh*) So we went for a ready made diamond template that we found on Pinterest (here) and tried it for ourselves! The full instructions are on minieco.co.uk and you can print a dotted-lined template or a dotted-line-free one! We used the dotted-line-free template since it had bold lines that we could use as guides in folding.

Eat Out: Miko's Brew in Tagum City

My bestfriend and I were on a mission yesterday to travel 2 hours away from Davao City to process a needed document. We headed 55 kilometers up north, to Tagum City! (Yes, malayo pinuntahan namin just to avoid long lines in Davao). We rode a non-aircon bus from Ecoland Terminal and that cost 70.00 php. However, the trip was kinda long because it kept on stopping for passengers every now and then. The last time I was in Tagum was still in 4th year high school, and it's pretty cool to kind of explore the place without the confines of a school bus! As a sidetrip from our "adult processing duties", we planned to go out and have desserts in Miko's Brew. One of our close friends suggested that we go and visit-- and visit we did!
Royal Palm Trees along Daang Maharlika
To get there (and anywhere in Tagum), you can ride their color-coded tricycles for a minimum fare of 9.00 php. Drivers actually ask you where you're headed to before you ride so make sure the driver clearly heard what you said because we experienced being brought to a different place because the driver didn't hear it right! I guess most tricycle drivers are familiar with Miko's Brew so it's fairly easy to get there.

Late Night

Hi!!!! It's been quite a while since I've last published something here! I've actually been doing a lot of things over the summer and still getting the hold of balancing things out. So here I am, fresh grad and unemployed, but sitting pretty at the moment muna! I'm actually studying Karen Horney's theory of personality right now and 2 pages more I'll be done with my goals for today! :-)

If you're ever wondering why I'm still studying when I've just finished school... Well, I'll save that for another post. For the meantime, eto ako feel na feel ang moment while studying with church clothes and a bit of make-up on. It's gonna be a long night! #InspiredMagStudy Goodnight and happy mother's day to your mommies! <3

xoxo,
Faye
